Summary:In the first three chapters of "Project 17" it explains two people and what is happening in their lives. In chapter one, Derik drives to a mental institution hospital. He dicovers that this would be the perfect setting to make his movie. In the next chapter, Liza is in the principal office and feeling very nervous to find out if she has been accepted into Harvard. Derik, in chapter three, is in his parents restaurant learning how to make food because his parents want him to have the family business but he's not so interested.
Reaction: In this book i personally dislike how she made each chapter change from one persons point of view to the next. I think she should have just made it in Deriks point of view instead of going from one person to the next.

Summary: In the next six chapters my book explains three point of views and who they're getting ready for the movie. Mimi, also known was Halloween because how she dresses. Mimi is eavesdropping to a conversation that Derik is having with Liza. Lisa doesn't seem to interesting about the movie derik is trying to make. So mimi steps in saying she knows alot of stuff about the mental institution. She says that she will help derik get into the institution and wants a part in his movie. After school that day Derik goes to see his uncle to get the best equipment he can to shoot his movie. The next Derik and Mimi meet in the library to discuss how they will get into the building without being seen and find the easiest way to get in and out. A new charater that is introduced is Greta. Greta is one of the those girls, who is rich and very snotty. Her boyfriend Tony, comes into the auditorium where Greta is located because she is trying out for a part in the play. Tony tells her about Deriks plan to make a movie and thinks it will be a great plan for them to get famous. Three days later they all meet at Deriks parent diner and talk about when they're going to meet, and where they're going to meet at the mental institution.
Reaction: What my reaction of these six chapters was that im getting a little bored because they're planning what they're going to do. I wish she would have put more action in the beginning.

Summary: I predict that Derik and his friends will encounter a very creepy person or something very creepy that will scare them and they will get lost. How does Mimi know so much about the mental institution? What was the significant of the doll in the middle of the hallway. While Derik and his friends were in the hallway they encountered very weird stuff such as the laughing doll, a notebook, a journal and many rooms with blood and scratches on the wall. Everyone is getting really freaked out about this place.
Reaction: How i reacted in these chapters were i was a little creeped out myself. I mean who wouldn't be scared if you were in an mental institution and you were wander around. I am starting to get into the book alot more than when i first started the book.

Summary: Who wrote the bloody words "I've been waiting for you." I predict that Christine, the girl that was in the journal that mimi found, wants the kids to tell her story and how the mental institution really was. In this section i read,Mimi decided to stay back so that Greta and Tony could be the stars of the movie and well she just really wanted to be alone. But of course someone had to stay back with her, and Chet manned up to the job. Chet said he had to go use the restroom but really he just wanted to play a suck joke on Mimi. Lisa, Derik, Greta and tony went downstairs because Derik wanted to shoot some action and not just sit there till morning. Then in the middle of the scene they hear someone scream. They all look at each other and say its Mimi. They run back the way they came but the door was locked and now they have to find another way up.
Reation: My reaction for these pages i read was i thought why would you ever wonder off by yourself, in a mental institution. Who would in their right mind would want to stay in a dark room and everyone left you behind.

Summary: What other objects or things will they encounter while they're still in this hallway? Will something dromatic happen that splits everyone up? Wat i predict is that Lisa and Derik will start dating each other after they get out of this creepy place. Also i think Chet and Mimi will have a thing because it seems to me that Chet always wants to be alone with Mimi. Now to start off with everyone was following Tony and see if Mimi was okay and of course she was but she was pissed at Chet for tripping her while she ran back from the bathroom. Lisa then sets up a circle of candles around her so she can read the journal Mimi found cause she is quite interested in it now. Everyone is sitting in this room so they can relex, well try anyways. As Greta and Tony unravel from each other in the other corner they say to Derik where are Mimi and Chet.
Reaction: My reaction was it was this section i read was a little boring because i likie exciting stuff. The excitement just stopped. I mean there has to be some good reason why. I mean Christine has to have some importance it this story because they keep on bringing her journal up.

Summary: Chet and Mimi sneak off while everyone is haveing "fun", not really but they get bored. So they want to explore the mental institution. They ran to this tunnel they found in the back of the cafateria. Derik, then was freaking out because Chet just said Mimi and him were going to the bathroom and should be back right now. So Derik uses his walkie-talkie to try to contact them but no one answers, so they go looking for them. Finally Chet answers saying " Mimi's on the floor." Derik freaks out on him and asks Chet if he can talk to him but he just says the same thing. As Derik, Lisa, Greta and Tony get closer Chet says your warmer, colder thing. As everyone turns the corner Chet comes rom a door, holding knife and theres blood all over the knife and his hand. Everyone freaks out but really Mimi and Chet wanted to just play a sick joke on them.
Reaction: My reaction to what i read was, i thought it was kinda mean to play such a funny sick joke on everyone especially since there in a mental institution. Also I wish there was still more action.

Summary: After there sick joke, everyone decided to go wonder around because everyone was bored. As they started to walk they went into the therapy room that was full of paints on the wall. As everyone goes to look at Derik notices in the eye of the painted lady there is a 17. He has to stop and think about where he saw it before. After everyone is done looking at the room they go back to the room they had the candles, the recption room. As everyone settles down they start to talk about there names and how weird they are. Then Greta changes the subject onto Derik. Derik use to be really popular until the thing happened with Kelly Pickerel, if you know what i mean. Lisa asks Derik about it but he doesn't want to talk about. So Lisa decides to read another entry that Christine wrote. As Mimi notices she says she wants to read one because Lisa has hogged the book all night. So Derik suggested that Mimi reads a entry but Greta, the "movie star", insists that she reads so Derik lets her. After that one she reads the last entry Christine wrote although Mimi doesnt want to hear it. Christine said tonight was going to be the night i will escape but i will now take my doll because she is svery special to me and i dont want her to get hurt. So i will leave her here and hope someone nice finds her. I predict that now that everyone is settled down something crazy is going to happen.
Reaction: My reaction to this section was i thought it was really cool how they went into the therapy room and found that sweet painting and in the eye was the number 17. Also I thought the author did a good job telling Christine's last journal enrty.

Summary: After Greta is done talking Mimi says we have to go find the doll. Everyone agrees with, so they start to head to the auditorium. On there way to find the doll Lisa and Derik are walking side by side. Suddenly, Lisa fell through the floor. The floor caved in and lucky Derik got a hold of her hand and pulled her up. After they recovered from the accident they got on the way bask to find the doll. Not far where Lisa fell there were more and more holes. Rocks started to fall and Derik pointed his camera up to see what is was. Then more started and hit Derik in the head. His camera fell and Derik said man my uncle is going to kill me, but thank god it didn't break.
Reaction: My reaction Do these chapters was wow. Who would ever go into a mental institution and stay there all night to film a movie after all these things are happening. But now where i am in this book its getting exciting and pumped to find out what is going to happen next.

Summary: As they got to the auditorium Derik says man this place is huge. Everyone starts to hear voices...or are they? Derik starts to freak out because he thinks he's going crazy. Tony also notices that greta is not acting like she usually does. She isn't getting the cues like she use to, she seems distracted like someone's there. They just keep on going over the same lines over and over but she still doesn't get them. As Greta gets more frustrated Mimi is tells everyone to look for clues Christine Bell. Everyone agrees but Greta is just freaking out on everyone. After a long time of looking Derik says that its time to go everything is creeping him out but Mimi just wont listen him. Mimi is looking everywhere for that doll but she can't find it. Greta must have been right...or is she.
Reaction: My reaction to this section is man i can't wait to the ending I want to see if everyone gets out okay, will they find the doll, if they find it what will they do it? There are so many questions that need to be answered. I'm getting really exciting jumpy.
